Make sure to regularly clean your gutters. Pay special attention to the area where the gutter drains into the downspout or chain. This is where the system is most likely to clog.

Do you see dripping? Is paint on the gutter or fascia oxidizing quicker around the joints or seams of the gutter system? We are happy to explain the process of removing the old sealant. We can also tell you which sealants are preferred and which are no good.

#3 FASTENER ISSUES

We often see sections of gutter that have disconnected from the fascia board. This can happen for many reasons but will usually require replacing the fasteners throughout that section. This can be a very small or very big project. Luckily our consultation is free!

#4 POOR GRADE

#3 FASTENER ISSUES

Rain water should flow in the gutter toward the downspouts or chains. If the gutter system is grading away from its drain it can hold water to the point where you see it overflow. You can test this by observing the inside of the gutter while filling it with water. Or you can simply test with a level.

Rain water should shed down the roof and fall into the gutter. If the gutter is not properly configured with the roof or roof flashing, rain water can track behind the gutter and appear as a leak. Call a pro

#6 POOR ELEVATION

Rain water should not miss and shoot over the gutter.

The gutter may be too small or the gutter elevation may be to low.
